What is SABIS® point system?
A SASBIS® Network school uses the SABIS Point System® as the basis for its curriculum, which establishes clearly measurable learning objectives for every lesson while involving students in a learner community.
By using SABIS Point System®, teachers demonstrate their understanding of each concept by presenting a point at a time. In small, manageable groups, students will check each other’s work, moving away from teacher-led instruction.
Depending on the student’s academic competence, each group chooses a coordinator. The students of this group oversee their own micro-community, manage questions, and provide clarification as necessary (or ask for help from other members of their group).
Moreover, as part of an instructor’s role, the teacher closely monitors students, asking for support whenever necessary and ensuring that they complete their tasks successfully. The learning cycle continues once all students have mastered the concept.
