Happy UAE National Day 2023 – History & Greetings (With Images)

The UAE National Day takes place on 2 December every year.

In Dubai and the rest of the emirates, National Day is one of the biggest celebrations in the UAE.

UAE National Day celebrates the union of all seven Emirates into one nation.

The six small Gulf states of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, and Umm Al-Quwain united in 1971 to form one federation. The following year, Ras Al Khaimah was added to the union, forming the nation we know today as the “United Arab Emirates”.

History of UAE National Day

During the British rule of the UAE in 1820, the British offered protection to the tribes in exchange for control of the land.

The country was occupied by different tribal groups. In exchange for peace, the tribes allowed the British to enter.

In 1968, Britain withdrew from the country due to financial losses.

Following Britain’s withdrawal from the country, the ruling groups of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Sharjah, Al-Ain, and Umm al-Quwain unified as UAE.
